Patrick Merner, also known by the handle Cool Richie, is a producer and session musician who has been avidly composing, performing , and producing around Canada for the past 10 years. Originally beginning his studies in classical music with the intention of becoming an orchestral musician, Patrick's life changed when he discovered the creative power of Ableton Live. He left the Schulich School of music at McGill and returned to Toronto where he began to make his mark as an electronic producer and performer with his bass guitar, performing both solo and with Toronto party heavyweights Hugsnotdrugs. With releases on Radj music, Gold N Tech, and 6n7 Patrick is building up a big repertoire of remixes and is always hard at work on new sounds and performance techniques. These days, he is hard at work with his partner Lucy Lovesick on a brand of music they call Poshley Slums, featuring Lucy's beautiful voice and Patrick's ever mutating bass.
